Getting started with online counseling is simple:
- We use a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform to protect your privacy.
- Before your first session, you’ll receive a link via email; just click to join at your appointment time.
- Sessions are held face-to-face over video, offering the same level of care, connection, and professionalism you’d experience in-person.
- All you need is a private space, a strong internet connection, and a phone, tablet, or computer.
Why Teletherapy is a Great Option
- Flexibility for busy schedules: Teens balancing school, activities, and family commitments, and adults managing work and family demands, can find teletherapy easier to fit into their day.
- Accessibility for clients in surrounding areas: If you live outside Winnetka or have difficulty traveling, teletherapy allows you to connect with one of our therapists without the commute.
- Comfort and privacy: Many clients feel more relaxed discussing sensitive issues in the comfort of their own home.
- Continuity of care: If life circumstances change (school breaks, illness, travel), you can continue to meet with your therapist without interruption.
Specializing in Mental Health and Eating Disorders
Our team has specialized training and experience in treating:
- Anxiety and depression
- Social anxiety and panic attacks
- Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
- Body image concerns and eating disorders, including binge eating disorder, anorexia, and ARFID
- Stress, perfectionism, and life transitions
We understand that these concerns can be deeply personal, and we work hard to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space for both adolescent and adult clients. Through teletherapy, we help clients develop practical coping skills, challenge unhelpful thought patterns, and move toward lasting recovery and well-being.
How We Collaborate and Support Families
For teen clients, we often collaborate with parents and caregivers when appropriate, helping families understand how to support their child at home. We also communicate with other professionals on your treatment team, such as dietitians, psychiatrists, and primary care physicians, when helpful and clinically indicated.
A Relationship Built on Understanding and Support
At Allium Counseling, our therapists are dedicated to getting to know each client’s unique story. We approach therapy with empathy and curiosity, working alongside you as a partner in your care. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, disordered eating, or simply feel stuck, we will help you find clarity and direction in a warm, safe, and compassionate space — even virtually.
